Plus some of my personal tips on how to find these gems yourself (because once you know the tricks, you’ll never pay for upskilling again 😏).

Quick tip from me: Start with just one short course (under 10 hours) this week. Block 30 minutes a day in your calendar like a meeting.
Digital Marketing
HubSpot Academy Certifications: 100% free - Inbound Marketing, Content Marketing, Email Marketing (4-10 hours each, badges/certificates). Globally recognised. Start: academy.hubspot.com/certifications
Google Digital Garage Fundamentals: Free 40-hour course + certificate covering SEO, social, ads. Link: learndigital.withgoogle.com/digitalgarage
My tip: Pick one skill to focus on first like SEO. Then try it on a real project. Applying it beats just watching videos.
AI & Data Analytics
Data Analytics Fundamentals (IBM SkillsBuild): Free path with courses on data analysis basics, visualisation, Excel/SQL intro, and storytelling with data + digital badges/credentials on completion. Hands-on and practical.

My tip: Use one AI tool or concept and play with it on something you already do at home, like managing your kid’s activity calendar.
Cybersecurity
ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC): Fully free self-paced training + certification exam (part of their ongoing One Million pledge! No experience needed). Entry-level official cert covering security principles, incident response, network security. Such a huge resume booster!

EC-Council Free Cybersecurity Essentials Series: Free beginner courses with certificates (e.g., Ethical Hacking Essentials, Digital Forensics Essentials, Network Defence). Hands-on basics in threats, hacking concepts, and forensics. These are great hidden gems for getting started fast.

My tip: Cybersecurity is exploding in 2026. Start with ISC2 or Fortinet for quick wins that look amazing on your profile!
